Why AutoFocus Australia is different
Most reviews test the one top-spec press car and leave it there. The manufacturer sites bury the differences between grades in a spec-sheet maze. Neither is much help when you are standing in a dealership trying to work out whether the mid grade is worth the extra money, or whether the base car already has everything you need.
So that is what we do. We break every model down grade by grade and show you, in plain English, exactly what each one gets you and who it is for. Detailed enough for the spec nerds, simple enough for everyone else. The goal is that you leave here confident about which car and which grade to go and test drive.
Who writes it
I'm Michael Chi, the founder of AutoFocus Australia. I'm obsessed with cars, and I've spent years studying, driving and judging just about everything sold in this country. I started AutoFocus Australia because my friends and family always came to me confused about which car to buy, lost in a market with hundreds of options, and I wanted to share what I know with people who do not live and breathe cars the way I do.
What you get from me is a knowledgeable, independent take: the facts checked against the manufacturer's own figures, and honest opinions that answer to you, not to a dealer. If I get something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it.
