The bZ4X is Toyota's electric medium SUV, a family car with no petrol engine at all, so there are no fuel bills and nothing to service under the bonnet. A big 2026 update brought a larger battery, more power and much lower prices, with strong driving range and quick acceleration depending on the version. It's roomy, quiet and easy to drive, and comes in three versions: the long range 2WD, the more powerful all wheel drive AWD, and the roomier, more powerful Touring flagship.

★ Editor's Pick · The AutoFocus Verdict

The 2WD is the range and value champion. It travels the furthest on a charge of any bZ4X, and after the 2026 price cuts it's strong value for a mid size electric SUV. You go without the AWD's second motor, bigger wheels, panoramic roof and JBL audio, but if range and price matter most, this is the pick.
