The real decision is the gearbox, and on the hatch that is not only a question of how you want to drive. The manual is the enthusiast's pick and the only one with rev-matching, which blips the throttle for you on downshifts. The automatic is quicker, far easier in traffic, and the only one whose blind-spot and rear cross-traffic systems will steer or brake to avoid a car rather than only warn you about it. So the manual asks you to give up safety equipment as well as convenience: an easy trade if this is a weekend car, a harder one if it is your only car. Take this grade either way, because what the Premium adds above it is comfort rather than pace.
