The Sorento Plug-in Hybrid is the version of Kia's seven seat family SUV that you charge from a powerpoint. Start the day with a full battery and it will cover a typical commute on electricity alone, and once the battery runs down it carries on as a normal petrol hybrid, so a long trip needs no planning around chargers. It only pays off if you can plug it in regularly, ideally at home overnight, because it costs a good deal more than the hybrid.
