The HiLux BEV is Toyota's first fully electric HiLux, sold separately from the diesel range and aimed mainly at mining, business and government fleets that want the HiLux's toughness with no tailpipe emissions. It comes only as an all wheel drive double cab, as a pick-up or cab chassis, in SR and SR5 grades. It keeps the tough body on frame build and off road ability, adds a six mode terrain select system, and can run tools from a cabin power outlet. The main catch is range: Toyota quotes it on the older, more generous NEDC test, and even so it is low by electric standards, so plan around that if you cover long distances.
