The IONIQ 5 is Hyundai's breakthrough electric mid sizer, a retro futuristic, pixel lit five seater that drives like a big car inside a tidy footprint thanks to its long, flat floored cabin. Built on Hyundai's 800 volt platform, it fast charges very quickly and can even power your appliances or campsite through its vehicle to load outlets. For 2026 the range is simplified, with the larger battery standard across the line: a value rear drive entry, the better equipped Elite, and the sporty all wheel drive N Line Premium.

The entry car is the IONIQ 5 at its purest, and it gives up nothing that defines the car: the same 84kWh battery and the same 800 volt ultra fast charging as the rest of the range. It even travels the furthest, its smaller 19 inch wheels stretching the WLTP range to 570km, further than the pricier grades manage on their 20 inch rims. The step up the range adds comfort and pace, never a better EV. If you don't need AWD, this base car covers the brief and leaves money for a home charger.
