The Eclipse Cross is Mitsubishi's coupe styled small SUV, sold in Australia only as a plug-in hybrid. It's an easy, affordable way into a plug-in, with a petrol engine paired to twin electric motors and standard all wheel drive. Its electric only range is around 45km, which covers plenty of short trips, but for some Australians that will not be enough for a full day of driving, so keep in mind you may need to charge every night or use a little petrol each day. Sharp styling, a comfortable five seat cabin and Mitsubishi's long warranty make it a sensible alternative choice, though the cabin tech is starting to feel dated, with a small 8 inch screen and no wireless phone mirroring. It comes in ES, Aspire and Exceed grades.
