The Ranger Hybrid is the plug-in hybrid Ranger, a dual cab ute that drives like any other Ranger but can cover short trips on electric power alone before the petrol engine takes over, so the daily commute can be done without burning fuel. Charge it overnight, and it can run power tools, appliances or a campsite straight off its battery. It still tows well and goes off road like the rest of the range, and is sold separately from the diesel Ranger. You can order it new as the XLT or the Sport, with the Wildtrak and the limited-edition Stormtrak now sold as run-outs while stock lasts. First deliveries are expected from the third quarter of 2026.

★ Editor's Pick · The AutoFocus Verdict

The XLT is the pick of the plug-in Ranger and the cheapest of the two grades you can order new. It quietly out-equips the pricier Sport, with 8-way power front seats, a 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist and a power roller shutter all standard, on the same hybrid drivetrain and 3,500kg towing as the rest of the range. Unless you specifically want the Sport's black styling, the XLT is the one to buy.
