The Transit Custom is Ford's medium work van, now offered with a choice of three powertrains: a turbo diesel, a plug-in hybrid that runs on electric power for short trips, and a fully electric version, in short or long wheelbase. Three equipment grades span the practical Trend, the better equipped Sport, with a five seat double cab option, and the all wheel drive Trail, the first Transit you can get with all wheel drive. Most carry their load in a big panel van cargo bay.

★ Editor's Pick · The AutoFocus Verdict
The Trend is the fleet and tradie staple, with everything you need to work and nothing you don't. The diesel short wheelbase is the value pick and volume seller; step to the long wheelbase for more load space, or choose the plug-in hybrid or electric drivetrains if your runs are short and you want to cut running costs.
